Camp Okavango - Moremi Game Reserve - Botswana

Camp Okavango Safari Tent

Camp Okavango is situated on Nxaragha Island in the heart of the Okavango Delta, and on the northern edge of the Moremi Game Reserve. Therefore the camp offers game viewing in the Reserve, and its own private concession.

The Camp accommodates 24 guests in East African style tents, all of which have been placed on raised wooden platforms. Accommodation is en-suite (shower and toilet), and has a private sundeck. Tent décor includes colourful woven rugs, and designer linen, whilst the furnisher is made from teak. The Camp is also popular with Honeymooners, and boasts the luxurious "Okavango Suite".

The main building is a mixture of thatch and lethaka (traditional reed), and is home to the cocktail bar, lounge and the dining areas. There is also an expansive open air patio, which allows for al fresco meals and evenings around the blazing fire. Camp Okavango's silver service dinner served by the light of candelabra is renowned.

You might which to enjoy a siesta in a shaded hammock; there is also a sundeck and plunge pool which is popular during the hot midday hours, whilst an elevated observation platform gives expansive views of the tranquil floodplains.

Activities at the Camp include exploring the channels and waterways by mekoro (traditional dug-out) and a river craft, on wildlife and bird watching excursions. You can also enjoy a guided nature walk on the neighbouring islands.
