Eagle Island Camp can be found on Xaxaba Island, and it overlooks a lagoon, to the south-west of Chief’s Island, on the edge of the Moremi Game Reserve.
The Camp accommodates 24 guests, in spacious, luxury tents all set under thatch, and placed on raised wooden decks, with views of the lagoon. There are 11 luxury tents, and 1 private suite. The tents are all well appointed, are equipped with air-conditioning, mosquito net, min-bar, and safe. You also have the use of a private viewing deck, complete with a hammock, and easy chairs. All accommodation is en suite.
The Private Suite also includes a plunge pool, double outdoor showers, and a copper bath. Private dining is offered on your deck. Guests at the suite also enjoy the use of a private game viewing vehicle and guide.
The main lodge area has a covered lounge, bar and dining section. In addition, there is an al fresco dining area, with a campfire, with seating area, off to the side. The Fish Eagle Bar is renowned for its beautiful views, and it is here that you can enjoy some magnificent sunsets – overlooking the lagoon, and islands. There is also a large swimming pool, which is set next to the lagoon.
The activities include morning and afternoon game drives, giving you the chance to see much of the wildlife for which the area is known. You can also enjoy mokoro (dug-out) excursions, which include short walks on neighbouring islands, and boat trips on the Xudum River. The latter are seasonal, as when the water levels drop, boating can be restricted.
