The camp is in a private concession, adjacent to the south western flank of the Moremi Game Reserve.
Guests are accommodated in 9 exclusive tented suites, which are set in arc around a floodplain, and under a canopy of African ebony trees. Each tent is on a raised platform, is en suite, and has a private veranda, which overlooks the floodplain.
The heart of Nxabega (it means ‘place of the giraffe’) is the main lodge area, where you will find the lounge, and dining room. There is an extensive viewing deck, and swimming pool – both of which allow for extensive views of the floodplain. There is also space for al fresco dining, and a camp fire.
At Nxabega, you can enjoy bush picnics in surprise settings, breakfast in bed, lamp lit cocktails on a river island, or a walking safari with tasty picnic.
The lodge offers morning and afternoon/ evening game drives, which allow you to explore this diverse area, and spot some of its wildlife. The drives that extend into the evening are accompanied by a spot light, allowing you the chance to see some of the fascinating night life.
Guests can also enjoy a guided bush walk, which is an excellent way of learning more about the bush, and allows for some excellent birding. Few memories can equal being poled through the channels of the delta in a mokoro. There is also option of a boat excursion. The water-borne activities are seasonal, and are generally offered from June to September.
The area is also excellent for keen birders, with some 349 species having been identified. There are wetland species, raptors, and the rare Pel’s fishing owl.
