The Lodge is in a private concession, which neighbours the southern section of the Moremi Game Reserve.
Sandibe is a small lodge, accommodating only 16 guests, safari cottages. Each cottage is en suite, with open-air shower, it also has screen walls, allowing for great views. You also have the use of a private deck, which overlooks the Santantadibe River, although the cottages are on the edge of the forest.
The central dining and sitting area is set under a canopy of trees. Dinners are usually served in the Boma (traditional outdoor eating area), which is illuminated by candles and lanterns. Alternatively you might choose to have a private dinner on your deck. Sandibe also arranges excellent bush picnics in surprise settings.
Guests also have the use of a small swimming pool.
Most game viewing takes place on the morning and afternoon/ evening game drives, when you get to explore this fascinating area, and learn much about the inhabitants. The afternoon drive continues into the evening, when a spotlight is used for those nocturnal sightings.
You can also enjoy guided bush walks – always a great way of seeing the area, and learning about the less obvious aspects of the environment.
Birdlife is prolific, with over 300 identified species. There are also excursions in mekoro (dug-outs), where you travel silently amongst the channels of the Delta, a truly tranquil way to travel. Sandibe also has a eco-craft, and electric vessel which allows for silent excursion on the river.
