Luxury Safari Camp
Pom Pom camp, is named for the island on which it is built, and is in a private concession, adjacent to the western side of the beautiful and diverse Moremi Game Reserve. Because of its situation at the headwaters of the Xudum River system, the Pom Pom boasts water year round – and thus water based activities. The area offers magnificent Okavango scenery, and a true Delta experience.
Pom Pom accommodates a maximum of 18 guests, in luxury safari tents, but in true traditional safari style, all with full en-suite semi open ablution facilities.
The main building is attractively designed and constructed of thatch and canvas and comprises lounge, dining, bar and pool areas, as well as a gift shop and the Boma (outdoor eating) area.
There are a variety of activities for guests to enjoy: game drives, nature walks, fishing (seasonal) and mokoro excursions. In addition, night drives in open 4x4 Land Cruisers are also permitted as the Camp is outside the area of the actual Reserve. Hippo and crocodile are found in the deeper lagoons in the area, and birding enthusiasts will enjoy looking for Pel's Fishing Owl, African Fish Eagle, Giant Eagle Owl and White Backed Vultures – to name but a few.
Recently taken over by new management, Pom Pom Camp is a Luxury Safari Camp but at budget prices.
